Horse Agility

Horse Agility is a fun filled sport growing fast in the UK and worldwide.

It is a great way to exercise your horse and keep them supple using different obstacles.
It is ideal for the older horse or smaller pony who can't be ridden and is a great way in which to have fun with your horse.

Horse Agility is suitable for all ages, fitness and ability of horse and handler and is a great way to meet like minded people who may think the same way about their horse’s potential other than just as a ridden horse.

Horse Agility Accredited Trainer

We run Horse Agility training and competition days throughout the year, Emily is a qualified HAAT (Horse Agility Accredited Trainer) and competes monthly with her horse in the online competitions.

Competitions

In the Horse Agility competition there are 10 obstacles to tackle, each one is marked out of 10, 5 for how well you complete the obstacle, 5 for your horsemanship. So if you cannot complete or struggle with something, if you deal with it well you can still get marks for good horsemanship.

There are many different levels of competition so there is always a new skill to learn or improve. As your relationship improves with your horse, there is liberty work you can start to do, which is with no halter or rope on the horse.

The newest introduction of competition to Horse Agility is Equagility. This is a course of 5 obstacles which you lead your horse around and then ride the same 5 obstacles. These start at an easy level until this can be done at liberty too.

Training

In a training session we will use different obstacles which are designed to safely improve the way your horse’s mind works and build the relationship you have together. It can increase confidence in the horse and handler which can improve everyday situations, like loading, leading, spookiness when hacking or at a competition.

Horse Hire

You can bring your own horse to do Horse Agility here at Snowdon Farm, or if you would like a go at it but don’t have a horse, you can hire one of our school horses to try it out.
